Farms in southern Idaho, you can choose your own delicious fruits
There is something super satisfying about being able to go around and pick your own fruit on a farm. There are a few places you can visit around the Magic Valley that are U-pick farms for different types of fruit.
Places you can go to pick your own berries
You can go to Tubbs Berry Farm and pick your own raspberries and blackberries. These usually don’t start until around August. So you should make sure to check their website and Facebook page for more information. They even give you advice on which berries are best and when.
Places to pick fruit other than berries
You can consult Kelley’s Canyon Orchard north of Filer. Their fruit stand is open seasonally, but in the coming weeks you can start picking cherries and apricots. Closer to August, you can get peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, apples, tomatoes, cantaloupe, and watermelon.
Towards the end of this month you can also head to Northview Orchard in Buhl where you can pick cherries. According to them Facebook page the cherries will not be ready for several weeks. You can always check for exact dates.
How to choose yours
It is suggested to call all farms and make an appointment with them to see when you can come in and choose yours. Prices also vary depending on each farm. Again, it is always best to call first.
As for Breckenridge near CSI, I couldn’t confirm or deny that they will be u-picking this year. We will keep you posted as much as possible.
